I would say it is better for the browsers to render the fields as the end users will feel comfortable with the type(style) of button displayed evenly in every website, rather than the properties altered by the developers in HTML5. CSS is always there to style them if they need HTML by default can be more intelligent than just styling

VaadinMetawidget automates adding com.vaadin.ui.Components into a com.vaadin.ui.Layout (by default com.vaadin.ui.FormLayout).

The default binding implementation does not use DataSources (I tried that but it didn't work out very well), but the implementation is pluggable.

There is a complete working example in the distribution that showcases both these things. (Vaadin Address Book).

I've tried exactly what you are suggesting here without any success.

If I use CacheManagerLocator then I get InvalidParameterException, because returned CacheManager is always null.

I tried to go directly via JNDI context and can see the returned Object is null.

However, I can see my caches eagerly started and I can see reference to java:CacheManager in JMX-CONSOLE. So, it seems that CacheManager bound to JNDI is not initialized or the wrong Object is bound.

I'm running JBoss.5.1.0-GA with ALL configuration, so all the jars should be available there.

I even added CacheManager to my application with no effect.

I could not find any help on this topic, so any suggestions on how to make it work would be greatly appreciated.

JSF already has a component (HtmlSelectOneRadio) that manages radiobutton groups for you.

To tell Metawidget to use it, you just need to add a little custom WidgetBuilder to suit your needs. Or, as a quick hack, you can do...

@UiFacesComponent( "javax.faces.HtmlSelectManyCheckbox" )

...on your getter.

The latest version of the AeroGear plugin targets the new Forge API (1.0.1 and above). But this error appears to be because the old Forge API (1.0.0.Final) is trying to call the new AeroGear plugin.
